Qigong-Baduanjin-8-Brocade: Tuesday Evenings
OSU Integrative Health at The Well
Join us for a FREE Introduction Session on Tuesday, January 5th from 6-7 PM. Registration is not required for this introduction session, but you can let us know to expect you here.
Ready to feel calmer, more energized, and more connected to your well-being? Join us for an 8-week introduction to Baduanjin Qigong, a gentle, accessible movement practice that combines mindful movement, breathwork, focused attention, self-massage, and sound to support physical, mental, and emotional health.
Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) translates to "energy work" and is an ancient Chinese practice designed to cultivate and balance Qi, or life-force energy. The Baduanjin Standing 8-Brocade Qigong form uses a simple sequence of eight flowing movements to help release stagnant energy, improve body awareness, and encourage greater ease and vitality throughout daily life.
Participants will:
- Learn a simple, mindful sequence of eight gentle movements
- Coordinate breath with movement to reduce stress and tension
- Build strength, flexibility, and balance in a low-impact way
- Practice relaxation and focus techniques that can be used beyond class
- Leave each session feeling grounded, refreshed, and energized
Research suggests that regular Qigong practice may help reduce pain, support immune function, improve flexibility, and enhance overall wellness. Previous participants have reported experiencing less back pain, increased mobility, greater relaxation, and improved energy levels through consistent practice.
