EVENT OVERVIEW
This is a 2-day professional learning series on a systems approach to inclusion and co-teaching for school teams. We are thrilled to welcome John Antonetti as our keynote speaker on each of these days! John will lead school teams in designing engaging yet rigorous learning for ALL students.
Day 1 will be offered on 2 dates: September 9th and repeated on the 22nd. Day 2 dates are February 10th or 24th. Registration should be completed as a school team composed of a building/district leadership team representative, a special education teacher and his/her general education co-teacher. Registration for Day 2 will be emailed at a later date.
Both fall and winter dates will be followed by a coaching cycle in the district.
LEARNING TARGETS
- Explore ways to hold rigor and alignment with grade-level academic standards in inclusive settings
- Examine ways to implement SDI while maintaining rigor and student engagement
- Explore inclusive practices that provide ALL students access, participation, and progress in the general education curriculum
- Participate in breakout learning sessions based on individual/team’s needs to support capacity building (Year 1) and sustainability of effective inclusive and co-teaching practices (Year 2 and 3 partner districts)
- Investigate ways to plan implementation of new learning as a school team
AUDIENCE
School teams including: All educational leaders, general education and special education teachers, any educator involved in supporting students with special needs.
