Regulate to Sustain: Chair Yoga, Self-Care & Sound Bath Practices to Reduce Burnout and Support Suicide Prevention
Professionals working in suicide prevention, public health, education, healthcare, and community service face high levels of chronic stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout—factors that can reduce resilience and increase mental health risk. Sustainable suicide prevention must include strategies that support the well-being of those doing the work.
This 60-minute experiential session provides accessible, trauma-informed self-regulation tools that participants can use immediately. The session integrates chair-based yoga, breathwork, grounding practices, and an extended therapeutic sound bath to support nervous system balance, emotional regulation, and burnout prevention.
All movement can be completed entirely in a chair, making the session inclusive for all bodies, abilities, and comfort levels. The sound bath portion uses calming sound frequencies to encourage deep relaxation, parasympathetic nervous system activation, and mental restoration. Participants leave feeling grounded, restored, and equipped with practical self-care strategies that function as protective factors in suicide prevention.
