The National Governors Association Center for Best Practices invites you to the third National Summit on State Cybersecurity from May 14-15, 2019 at the Shreveport Convention Center. As the only national meeting focused on state cybersecurity, this unique event will convene state homeland security advisors, chief information officers, chief information security officers, governors’ policy advisors, National Guard leaders, and others from all 55 states and territories to explore cybersecurity challenges and promising practices. Over the course of two days, participants will engage in a series of interactive sessions and breakouts to discuss countering the newest threats, disruption response planning, workforce development, and much more.

NGA will reimburse travel costs for two (2) state officials from each state, commonwealth, territory, and the District of Columbia. The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) will also award block grants to each state and territorial chief information officer (CIO). Each CIO may use this block grant to finance Summit travel expenses for themselves and/or other state employees within the state CIO's office that CIO designates.

For states that would like to send additional representatives at their own expense, please contact dforscey@nga.org or mgarcia@nga.org for more information.

In order to coordinate which state representatives will be NGA-sponsored and NASCIO-sponsored, please fill out the following Team Designation Form and submit to Lauren Goodwillie (lgoodwillie@nga.org) by Friday, March 15th, 2019. In completing the form, we encourage you to coordinate with the Governor’s office and your state CIO (or equivalent). NGA will only accept one team designation form from each state, so please be sure to coordinate with your colleagues.

The program will begin Tuesday, May 14th at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude Wednesday, May 15th with an evening reception.

If you have questions regarding registration and travel, please contact Lauren Goodwillie at lgoodwillie@nga.org.

If you have questions regarding the program, please contact David Forscey at dforscey@nga.org or Michael Garcia at mgarcia@nga.org .

The deadline to register is Wednesday, April 22, 2019.
