State of Our Region is a new initiative from UNC Charlotte, the Charlotte Urban Institute and Regional Data Trust designed to provide a deeper, more comprehensive understanding of the people and communities that make up our region. Bringing together rigorous research, regional data and the perspectives of residents across a 14-county area spanning the North Carolina Piedmont and South Carolina midlands, the initiative will introduce a representative regional well-being survey and the Carolinas Regional Explorer. Together, these tools will create an enduring public resource to help civic leaders, community partners, researchers and residents better understand how our region is growing, where challenges and opportunities exist, and how the people who call this region home are doing.
