The Penn State Agricultural Council was formed in 1961 as the primary forum for interaction between the leadership of the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences and its industry clientele. The Council serves in an advisory capacity to the College and as an advocate for the College to individuals and groups outside the College.
The Council's membership includes organizations, groups, and businesses that represent an agricultural or related interest in Pennsylvania. The Council allows members to stay informed, provide feedback on College programs, activities, and opportunities, and actively participate in the College's strategic planning process.
The Penn State Ag Council continues to provide opportunities to:
- Learn more about College of Agricultural Sciences programs, activities, and opportunities.
- Network with college leadership, faculty, and other industry leaders.
- Provide quality feedback on college programs and research, and participate in the college's strategic planning process.
- Relay suggestions for innovative ways in which the college can carry out its mission.
- Convey industry needs and concerns.
- Advocate and build external support for college programs, research, and funding.
For the Council to be effective, we need active representation from a diverse section of the agriculture community.
