Dean Bharat N. Anand

Bharat N. Anand is the Richard R. West Dean and Professor of Business Administration at NYU’s Stern School of Business, where he began his tenure as Dean on August 1, 2025.

An internationally recognized scholar of strategy, he is widely known for his work on digital transformation, media and entertainment, artificial intelligence, and organizational change. His book, The Content Trap: A Strategist's Guide to Digital Change, received acclaim for its perspective on strategy and digital transformation, and was named as one of Fast Company’s top 10 business books and Bloomberg’s Best Books of the Year. His recent article on “The Gen AI Playbook for Organizations” received the Harvard Business Review Best Article Prize for 2026.

Before joining NYU Stern, Dean Anand spent 27 years on the faculty of Harvard Business School, where he was the Henry R. Byers Professor of Business Administration. He helped create Harvard Business School Online, labeled by Fortune as the “Classroom of the Future”, and served as its inaugural faculty chair and Senior Associate Dean. He later served as Harvard University's Vice Provost for Advances in Learning, where he led Harvard’s Generative AI Task Force for Teaching and Learning and the development of Harvard's next-generation Learning Experience Platform.

Dean Anand has received numerous honors for his scholarship, teaching, and leadership, including a two-time "best teacher award" at Harvard Business School, and the Foreign Policy Association Medal in 2026, recognizing his contributions to leadership and global engagement.

He received his B.A. in economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard College, and his Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University.

Andre J. L. Koo (MBA '94)

Andre J.L. Koo (MBA ’94) is chairman of the Chailease Group, which is comprised of the publicly listed financial services company, Chailease Holding, and subsidiaries that are engaged in a diverse range of industries including direct investment, online fund trading platform, commercial trading, real estate development, interior design, hospitality, food and beverage, property management, security services, biomedical products, media, and distribution of wine and sake.

Mr. Koo joined Chailease in 1997 after serving at several financial institutions in the United States. Previously, he was managing director of Chinatrust Hotel Ltd. and chairman of China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. He earned his master of business administration from NYU Stern School of Business in 1994. He is an NYU Trustee, Chairman Emeritus of the NYU Stern Executive Board, member of the President’s Global Council, President of the NYU Pan-Asia Alumni Association, and President of the NYU Alumni Club in Taiwan. In May 2023, Mr. Koo received the NYU Albert Gallatin Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Society in recognition of his dedication to the community. In April 2024, the NYU Stern School of Business honored Mr. Koo with the Haskins Award. This year, NYU President Linda G. Mills appointed Mr. Koo as the inaugural President’s Global Ambassador.

Mr. Koo and his family have longstanding ties to the Stern School, ties that include alumni from three generations of the Koo family—Mr. Koo’s father, the late Dr. Jeffrey Koo Sr. (MBA ’62); Mr. Koo himself; and his sons, Andre Koo Jr. (BS ’18), and Matthew Koo (BS ’24).
