Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
- Master the art of TAD placement: Learn practical techniques for selecting optimal insertion sites, evaluating anatomy, achieving primary stability, and placing TADs safely and efficiently to maximize clinical success.
- Prevent and manage TAD failures: Identify common causes of TAD failure and review strategies involving placement technique, soft tissue management, force application, and patient care to improve long-term stability and success.
- Understand TAD selection and biomechanics: Examine how TAD design, placement location, and force vectors influence orthodontic biomechanics, including the unique features and clinical advantages of the VectorTAS system compared to other TAD systems.
- Identify appropriate clinical applications: Explore the use of temporary anchorage devices (TADs) in both simple and complex cases, including anterior open bite correction using buccal and/or palatal TADs, molar protraction, and molar intrusion. Recognize when TADs offer a clinical advantage and when alternative treatment approaches may be preferable.
Attendees will leave with practical, immediately applicable strategies for confidently placing TADs and incorporating them into their orthodontic treatment plans.
