As the Baltic Sea region advances its energy transition goals, offshore wind energy plays a central role in securing a sustainable, decarbonised future. Building on the momentum of the Vilnius Declaration, signed by eight Baltic nations - Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden - in April 2024, the focus now shifts from planning to implementation, with cross-border cooperation at the forefront.

The recent synchronisation of the transmission grids of the three Baltic States – Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia –further exemplifies the region’s commitment to energy integration and sustainability. Along with Poland, these Baltic States are strengthening their energy infrastructure while playing a pivotal role in advancing the integration of renewable sources, particularly offshore wind. This progress significantly enhances the energy security of the broader European Union.

To continue the critical dialogue on the importance of robust grid infrastructure in meeting offshore wind goals, Global Transmission Report will organise its 6th Annual Conference on Baltic Offshore Wind Transmission on November 6, 2025, at Radisson Collection Hotel, Warsaw. The conference will explore emerging strategies, technological innovations, and policy frameworks essential for advancing transmission development to integrate the planned offshore wind capacity in the Baltic Sea.

Like previous editions, this year’s conference will bring together key stakeholders driving the growth of offshore wind and transmission infrastructure in the region. As the Baltic Sea region transitions toward a more interconnected grid and greater energy resilience, the discussions will be crucial in shaping the roadmap for the future.
