Recommendations for Out-of-Town Participants (In-Person WISSIT)

Lodging

If you are coming to WISSIT from out of town, you will be responsible for arranging your own accommodation. We suggest using sites such as hotels.com, expedia.com, or airbnb.com to find the best rates. Washington International School’s Primary School campus is located in the Burleith neighborhood of Washington, DC, just north of Georgetown. Hotels nearby are the Glover Park, Sonder (the Georgetown, Downtown, and Dupont Circle locations are closest to the campus), or Sonesta (just over the river in Arlington).

Transportation

If you are flying to DC for WISSIT, Reagan National Airport (DCA) in Arlington, VA, is most convenient to DC. Two other large airports in the area are Dulles and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI), but both are approximately one hour from DC, depending on traffic.

If you are traveling by train, Union Station is near the U.S. Capitol and on the Red Line of the Metro system.

There will be limited parking at Washington International School’s Primary School campus, with some additional spots available at a nearby school. We highly recommend that you use public transportation or a rideshare/taxi service, if that is feasible for you. The campus is within a six-minute walk of several bus routes.
