Understanding risk in early psychosis is essential to providing effective, compassionate care. This presentation provides overview of psychosis, aggression, and violence, with a focus on dispelling common myths, understanding factors that contribute to aggression during psychiatric crises, and applying effective verbal and non-verbal de-escalation strategies. Participants will explore psychotic symptoms, risk factors associated with aggressive behavior, the role of substance use (particularly cannabis), and practical approaches to promoting safety and recovery-oriented care.
