This course, Business of Optometry: Eliminate, Automate, Simplify and Elevate (aka "EASE") helps you focus on scaling your business and all that is required. The objectives are in the name: Eliminate duplicative or unnecessary work, Simplify processes, Automate systems, and Elevate your team with training and delegation.  

**Note: This course was previously named: "Business of Optometry 2.0" and the name has been updated to reflect the content covered**

  • Employee empowerment

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Please plan your travel to arrive by 5pm so you are able to join us for dinner and our opening session. This is important to introduce you to your fellow colleagues and begin the discussions that will occur throughout the course of the curriculum. Departing flights should be made after 6pm

Mick Kling OD Speaker

Dr. Michael A. (Mick) Kling serves as the Senior Director of Professional Development at Vision Source and is the founder of Impact Leadership, a business coaching firm dedicated to supporting the eye care community. He is also the CEO of Invision Optometry, one of San Diego’s largest single-location optometric practices. Known for his thoughtful insights, dynamic speaking style, and forward-thinking solutions, Mick has earned a reputation for helping practice owners successfully navigate their most pressing financial, cultural and operational challenges.

Laurie Sorrenson OD Speaker

Laurie Sorrenson, OD, FAAO, ABO is the majority owner in a 10 OD group practice in Austin. She built and occupies 10,500 sq foot building in 2015. An aggressive advocate of optometry, she is still the TOPAC chair for the TOA and on the Legislative committee. She was the 4th yr Practice Management Coursemaster at UHCO for 23 years and rotates 5 optometric interns through her private practice every semester. She has been the Vision Source administrator in the Austin area since the 90’s. She is the CEO of ODs Care that works with Half Helen, a charity eye clinic in Austin. Her practice specializes in macular degeneration, dry eye disease, headaches, neurovisual optometry, glaucoma, scleral and eyeprintpro lenses. She resides in Austin, TX and hobbies include weight lifting, scuba diving with her husband, and spending time with her 3 kids and her grandson, Hudson. Her son, Eric, is also an alum of UHCO and is now a partner in the practice! (and she is so proud!!)
