This 3-day workshop is an opportunity to make a story and explore how to create a Digital Storytelling assignment. Whether you’d like to provide students with options for making and demonstrating knowledge or want to help students communicate complex ideas in meaningful and creative ways, this workshop will help you understand how digital stories are created and how these assignments can be structured.

The hands-on activities in this program will be focused on podcast and video creation, but other forms will be discussed and welcomed.

In this workshop, you will:

1. Create a digital storytelling assignment

2. Practice the technical skills for recording and editing

3. Make a plan for fair assessment and grading

On the first day we will explore examples and assignment design. On the second day, using provided resources, we will use video editing tools to create a short video. On the third day, we will record a short segment for a Podcast, and then again use editing tools to create a short podcast. Each session will be 90 minutes.
