The Federal Reserve Banks of Dallas and Kansas City invite you to join us in Houston for the 11^th annual Federal Reserve Energy   Conference on Tuesday, November 10, 2026. This conference will investigate contours of tail risks in the energy sector, highlight how such events affect broader economic conditions, and what opportunities may emerge as conditions change.

Energy prices are historically volatile and subject to shocks that industry leaders must manage, and policymakers must interpret in real time. Similarly, the availability and accessibility of natural resources can be uncertain for any source or mode of energy production. 

Beyond the typical volatility in the energy sector, significant tail risk events can lead to changes in business strategy, adjustments in industry organization, and affect economic performance well beyond the energy sector. The global economy has witnessed several such tail risk events over the past few years, including COVID-19, the Russia/Ukraine War, and the latest conflict in Iran.
