Looking Back, Looking Ahead:

UK-Swiss Partnership and Opportunity in a Changing World

4 November 2026
11:45-14:00

ABOUT THE EVENT

The UK’s Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, HMA James Squire, will reflect on his tenure in Berne since 2022 and the significant strengthening of UK-Swiss relations during this time.

Against a changing global landscape, the UK and Switzerland have continued to build on their shared values of innovation, free trade and democracy. Bilateral cooperation has reached new heights, with important developments in trade and financial services, including progress towards a modernised Free Trade Agreement and the landmark Mutual Recognition Agreement in financial services.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Squire will also explore the opportunities for further cooperation, particularly across technology, life sciences and finance, and the role the UK and Switzerland can play in driving global economic growth and mutual prosperity.

Join us for the Ambassador’s farewell visit to the BSCC Geneva Chapter and take the opportunity to hear his reflections on the past, present and future of UK-Swiss relations.
