NMPED Instructional Material Bureau - HQIM Implementation Regional Convening - October 30, 2025 - Southwest - Las Cruces, NM
The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) - Instructional Material Bureau - is hosting this regional convening designed to support districts, charter school, and regional educational cooperative (REC) teams of 2-4 participants with advancing the implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM).

During each convening, we will guide participants as they:
- Deepen their understanding of the key elements of successful HQIM implementation,
- Analyze their own local implementation data,
- Develop an actionable implementation plan, including a professional learning plan
- Access tools and resources to sustain progress after the convening.

Your team of 2-4 participants should consist of a district curriculum leader, a school leader, an instructional coach, and a teacher leader/innovator.

Prior to attending the convening, you and your team, using the appropriate tool below, should determine what phase of HQIM implementation you are in for math, science, or ELA.

We have created a 45-60 min Canvas Course, “Understanding and Navigating the Implementation Journey of High-Quality Instructional Materials” that will help you complete the appropriate implementation tool prior to the regional convening.
Please plan to bring a copy of your completed implementation tool for your district/charter school.
*Important - You should register for the convening closest to your location. You may be reassigned if you register otherwise.

Time: Breakfast and registration begin at 7:15 am and each day will end by 4:00 pm.

Lodging: Lodging is available for those traveling over 60 miles (one way) from their school/office to the venue. High Plains REC will make your reservation. The hotel will send you a confirmation email.

Mileage: Mileage reimbursement is available to those traveling over 60 miles (one way) from their school/office location to the venue and are the driver of a personal vehicle.
----
Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. Some dietary needs can be met; however, if you have health-related dietary concerns, you are encouraged to bring along adequate food items to meet your needs.
