Celebrating 100 Years of Standards

As NEMA marks 100 years of leadership in standards development, this event examines how electrical standards are evolving to keep pace with a faster, more digital world. 

Across four forward-looking panels, industry leaders will explore the role of standards in enabling innovation while ensuring interoperability, security, and reliability. 

Discussions will explore how the standards system has adapted to rapid technological change, including the shift toward digital, smart, and AI-enabled standards and the need for more agile development timelines. Sessions will highlight real-world applications across smart manufacturing interoperability, a more flexible and resilient electric grid, and the critical role of codes and standards in supporting data centers as essential infrastructure for the digital economy.

Together, these conversations highlight how collaboration among manufacturers, utilities, operators, and standards organizations can support industrial modernization, grid transformation, and responsible growth—shaping the next generation of standards for an electrified, connected future.
