ABOUT LTD2025
The Low Temperature Detectors (LTD) Conference is the premier scientific meeting of experts from all over the world to share and discuss latest results and new ideas in the field of cryogenic detectors and their applications. With their outstanding performance characteristics, LTDs enable completely new ways of making high precision measurements and have had profound scientific impact. Their unique and promising features have led to rapid technological developments in recent years, making this class of detectors highly attractive in a wide variety of field from fundamental research to applied sciences.

Major areas of application include cosmology, astronomy, astrophysics, basic nuclear and particle physics, nuclear forensics and nonproliferation, x-ray materials analysis, biomolecular mass spectrometry, the search for dark matter, neutrino physics, and quantum information science and technology, including quantum computing.
The core technologies and scientific disciplines underlying this field have a broad span, ranging from physics and chemistry through electrical engineering, device fabrication, and systems engineering. Technologies commonly exploited by LTD 2025 researchers include cryogenics, cryo-electronics, thin-film deposition, superconductivity, nano- and micro- fabrication, signal read-out multiplexing, data acquisition and analysis.
This 21st workshop will take place June 1-6, 2025 in Santa Fe, at the Santa Fe Convention Center. More than 400 physicists and engineers are expected from over 50 top-level Universities and Research Institutes worldwide.
Satellite Event to LTD: We would like to help advertise the EXCESS25@LTD Workshop, taking place in Santa Fe on May 31st , 2025. This workshop will be held as a satellite event to the Low Temperature Detectors (LTD) conference, offering a vibrant platform for collaborative discussions on low-energy excesses observed in low-threshold experiments. We’re pleased to announce that the LTD2025 Conference Proceedings will be published in a special issue of IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity (IEEE-TAS, https://ieeecsc.org/publication/ieee-tas). LTD 2025 Late Submission Opportunity for Breaking News and Exciting New Concepts!
Based on feedback with LTD community, LTD 2025 is inviting late abstract submissions for Breaking News and Exciting New Concepts. LTD community members have stated a desire to share more results and boost participation in the conference. Generally, this would be through a poster presentation, though significantly high-profile and broadly relevant results could be considered for talks, agenda permitting. We are looking for new abstract submissions in two categories
Breaking News – exciting new findings over the past few months but could not meet the abstract submission deadline
Exciting New Concepts – out-of-the box inventions, hypotheses, or other radical concepts, cool ideas that will benefit from the feedback you can get from the LTD community at LTD 2025.
These will be considered as submitted, space and agenda allowing, with a deadline of April 15th.
We are aware that LTD R&D institutions have to manage travel costs, and that being a presenter at the conference is considered in making travel decisions. This additional opportunity for Breaking News and Exciting New Concepts is available to help the LTD community help manage such issues consistent with their institutional guidance and requirements.
