PRESENTATION FORMATS
Review the format descriptions below to determine which best fits your proposed session. The following presentation format proposals must be submitted by October 30, 2026, 3:00 p.m. ET.
15-Minute BITE Presentation — Corporate Members ONLY
BITE (Business Information & Technology Education) presentations are designed to let corporate members connect with a wider audience. These concise 15-minute sessions offer the chance to share industry knowledge through an educational presentation. These are not sales pitches.
30-Minute Individual Presentation
Structured presentations or discussions focused on a single topic, with one to two speakers recommended. Allotted time includes Q&A.
60- or 90-Minute Presentation
A variety of formats can build 60- and 90-minute sessions — panel discussions, case study comparisons, interactive small-group breakouts, and more. Multiple presenters are encouraged for broader perspective: a maximum of 3 speakers is recommended for 60-minute sessions, and up to 5 for 90-minute sessions, to ensure adequate time for each presenter. You can contact a Program Selection Committee member to discuss whether an interactive format — breakouts, debates, narrative formats — or a more formal multi-speaker panel best fits your topic.
Workshop (Full or Half-Day)
Ideal for workshop leaders to share knowledge in a focused, usually hands-on, learning experience. Workshops require a registration fee per attendee; average attendance is 15–20 participants. Half-day workshops typically run 3 hours; full-day workshops typically run 6 hours with lunch included.
The following formats will open in the Spring Call for Sessions (first week of January):
Poster Presentation — Spring Call for Sessions Only
Displayed throughout the Conference, posters showcase a single program or research project in a graphic format using photographs, diagrams, plans, or charts with limited text printed on high-quality paper, fabric, or vinyl. Posters are an excellent way to present new ideas, concepts, and programs.
Rapid Fire Presentation (5 minutes) — Spring Call for Sessions Only
Rapid Fire presentations are concise and dynamic 5-minute talks designed to showcase innovative programs, novel ideas, or impactful projects in a fast-paced and engaging format. These presentations offer a valuable opportunity to quickly disseminate your work to a broad audience, spark lively discussions, and potentially generate new collaborations. Rapid Fires emphasize clarity, conciseness, and impactful visual aids to effectively convey key takeaways within the allotted timeframe.
Connect Rooms — Spring Call for Sessions Only
Connect Rooms are all about bringing people together! These informal, discussion-based gatherings offer a dedicated space to gather, network, and connect with like-minded individuals across the Association. Whether you want to host a meetup for international members, a coffee hour for specific professional tracks, or a casual brainstorming circle on a niche topic, Connect Rooms are the place to make it happen.
Student Opportunities — Spring Call for Sessions Only
As part of our dedicated "Student Day" on Tuesday, June 29, these opportunities offer students a professional platform to showcase their work and gain valuable speaking & networking experience. Students are invited to submit proposals for Posters (see above), Rapid Fires (5-minute presentations; see above), or Student Presentations (10- to 15-minute presentations). Submissions are more likely to be accepted when the subject matter pertains directly to the field of public horticulture. This is an excellent opportunity to network with industry leaders, receive feedback, and build a professional presence.
