TÜV Rheinland's 8 -Stage Hazard Study Process
The 8-stage hazard study process covers the full lifecycle of a project. It starts at the concept stage with a study of inherent safety, then aligns with the development phases of the project through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operation. Each stage is designed to assess to an appropriate level of detail and be carried out early enough to gain maximum benefit from the findings.
The TÜV Rheinland hazard study process can be applied to continuous and batch processes, non-chemical systems and PLC control systems, new projects, modifications, and existing plants.
The training method
The course consists of a series of training modules that deal with the 8-hazard study stages, plus sessions on related topics designed to improve the capability and effectiveness of hazard study leaders. The training is interactive with lots of discussion and examples to convey each learning point. Team exercises are used to give attendees an opportunity to put into practice what has just been discussed.
