Join us for one of our Pre-Forum Action Institutes on Tuesday, September 22nd, from 1pm - 4pm!

Pre-Forum Action Institutes on the day prior to the start of the Education Equity Forum give participants an opportunity to dig deep into a relevant statewide policy, trends in the landscape or thorny issues being confronted by education equity leaders. Together, participants will have time to plan with fellow participants, discuss local dynamics impacting implementation, and identify key opportunities for action. Each participant will leave with a tangible action plan they can take home to their own communities to support their efforts.

This year we are excited to host a Pre-Forum Action Institute from The California Alliance for Student Parent Success, which EdTrust-West co-convenes with California Competes. This Action Institute is designed to deepen advocates’ understanding of new and ongoing state efforts supporting the hundreds of thousands of students with children in California. Participants will build capacity around advocating for student-parent-focused policies, as well as learn and action plan around ways to support on-the-ground implementation efforts of California laws such as the GAINS for Student Parents Act and AB 2881.
