Compassion as Strategy: Driving Workforce Well-Being and Member Experience in the Payer Environment
Tuesday, June 9, 2026
4:00 - 5:00 p.m. EST
The healthcare system is facing rising clinician burnout, fragmented care delivery, and declining patient trust, highlighting a critical gap in the consistent application of compassion across care settings.
While compassion is associated with improved patient experience, adherence, clinical outcomes, and provider well-being, it remains underdefined and underutilized within health plan operations, where administrative processes and policy decisions significantly shape the care experience. Most existing education focuses on bedside care, leaving health plan professionals without practical frameworks or strategies to embed compassion into utilization management, member communications, care coordination, and provider engagement.
This gap between the recognized value of compassion and its operational implementation underscores the need for targeted education to equip health plan stakeholders with the knowledge and tools necessary to integrate compassion into organizational culture and decision-making, ultimately improving both human and system-level outcomes.
