Open Forum Overview:
Join USP for a virtual open forum hosted by the Personalized Medicine Expert Committee (PMEC) to discuss ongoing pharmacogenomics (PGx) work and share feedback on future needs in the field. Participants will hear from USP staff and Expert Committee members, consider how current work aligns with real-world needs, and help identify gaps, clarifications, or future topics that may benefit from standards.
This interactive session will include a brief show-and-tell of current PMEC activities, with most of the time reserved for attendee feedback, questions, and perspectives. During the open forum, you will:
- Learn about proposed USP-NF Chapter <1301> Pharmacogenomics – Glossary of Terms and how to provide public comment in the USP Pharmacopeial Forum.
- Hear updates on current PGx testing work, including insights from USP’s recent roundtable and plans for an expert panel to help advance this work.
- Share feedback on gaps, emerging needs, and areas where USP standards or resources may be most useful in supporting broader PGx implementation across care settings.
You should attend if you are a:
- Clinician, pharmacist, or other healthcare professional who uses pharmacogenomic information to support patient care.
- Laboratory professional involved in pharmacogenomic testing, implementation, quality practices, or results reporting.
- Researcher or academic working on pharmacogenomics terminology, evidence development, or implementation science.
- Industry representative developing, supporting, or implementing tools, tests, technologies, or services related to pharmacogenomics.
- Regulator, policymaker, or standards stakeholder interested in quality, consistency, and public health considerations for pharmacogenomics implementation.
- Patient advocate or engagement partner interested in how standards and shared language can support clear, trustworthy use of pharmacogenomic information.
