- Students entering 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade are invited to apply for this one-week residential camp on the campus of Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. (no-cost) to apply.
- The application period is open through Saturday, May 23rd.
- Students who applied will be contacted to register for the camp on Monday, May 25th.
- Selected students will be able to register for the camp from May 25th through May 29th.
- The camp has a $200 registration fee. Scholarships are available to students who qualify.
- The camp is hosted by the Upper Peninsula Cybersecurity Institute and Central UP MiSTEM Network, with Marshall Plan grant funding.
- The camp begins with a series of topics explored in a pre-camp virtual setting (2 hours of synchronous & 6 hours of asynchronous activities) on Monday, June 8th.
- On Sunday, June 21, 2026, accepted participants will start the face-to-face portion of the camp, where they will stay in a residence hall.
- Academic instruction and hands-on activities during camp will take place throughout various facilities on NMU campus.
- Campers will learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity in an immersive and intensive instructor-led, hands-on format.
- Major topics will include ethical hacking, introductory programming, Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity career exploration, and more.
- Campers will not only participate in instructional activities during the day but also curated recreational activities in the evenings.
