The next Cancer Prevention Research Conference is taking place from June 3–5, 2026 in Atlanta, USA, hosted by the American Cancer Society and Cancer Research UK.

Through this conference, we are creating a thriving multidisciplinary cancer prevention research community that sparks new collaborations to advance the field of cancer prevention.

Cancer primary prevention research seeks to understand risk factors and their underlying mechanisms, identify targets for intervention, develop and evaluate strategies to reduce or mitigate cancer risk, and generate evidence to support the implementation of effective preventive measures.

Learning Objectives:

  • Shape the discussion: Explore and debate cutting-edge research and emerging approaches in primary cancer prevention.
  • Stay informed: Gain insights into the latest mechanistic, epidemiological, and translational studies shaping the future of prevention, leading to patient/public benefit.
  • Make connections: Foster interdisciplinary networks to support collaboration, idea generation, and the development of future research directions to promote equitable cancer prevention strategies.

Andrew Chan (Massachusetts General Hospital), Kala Visvanathan (Johns Hopkins University) and Kwee Yong (University College London) are shaping this year’s scientific program, bringing together expert speakers from across the globe to share novel insights in talks, panels and poster sessions spanning the research continuum.

This is a must-attend event for researchers at every career stage from discovery biology, translational and behavioral science, through to population and implementation research.

    • World Cancer Research Fund International and the American Institute for Cancer Research are the co-sponsors for the session.
  • Implication of Intervention of Clonal Hematopoiesis of Indeterminate Potential (CHIP) for Cancer Prevention
  • Environmental Changes to Inform Prevention Science

The program will also include interactive panel sessions, debates, poster presentations, networking opportunities and other components relevant to discussing and furthering cancer prevention research and implementation.
