Cybersecurity Awareness Month, recognized each October, is a timely reminder that protecting Corning starts with each of us. In a world where scams, cyber-attacks, and security threats are becoming more sophisticated, our best defense is a culture of awareness—pausing to Stop, Think, and Protect before we click, share, or respond.

During Connections, take time to join one of the Cybersecurity Awareness Month activities. Each activity is designed to be engaging, practical, and relevant — helping you sharpen your instincts, recognize warning signs, and take simple steps to stay more vigilant.

Cyber Escape Room: Corning, NY (HQ)

Can you crack the code before time runs out?

Our CISO, José Hernández, has been captured by the Glass Hacker Group. Corning's network is under attack, credentials are cracking, and rogue devices are spreading fast. You and your team have 45 minutes to outsmart the hackers before the breach goes company-wide. Do you have what it takes?

Gather your team of 4–6 players and get ready to take on the challenge. Team captains register as soon as registration opens — spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

JeopardyFeud (Cyber Showdown): Corning, NY (HQ)

Step into the spotlight for a fast-paced, game show-style showdown blending the best of Jeopardy and Family Feud—with a cybersecurity twist. Test your knowledge, solve clues, and compete in real time as you race against the clock and your peers. Whether you’re a cyber pro or just curious, this interactive session delivers learning, laughs, and a little friendly rivalry.

Be the Phish: A Company-Wide Phishing Challenge

Employees were invited to craft realistic phishing emails as part of a company-wide security challenge. 296 entries were received!

6 entries will be selected to run as simulations during the annual Corning Phishing Contest in October. The most convincing entry—the one that leads the most employees to fall for the phish—will win a prize.
