Reducing Emissions Across the Ethylene Value Chain Workshop

Stanford University and RMI invite you to save the date for a co-hosted convening that will bring together leaders from academia, industry, and civil society to tackle one of the chemical sector’s most emissions-intensive materials. Ethylene, a foundational building block for plastics and countless everyday products, is responsible for significant (nearly 1%) global greenhouse gas emissions due to its reliance on fossil-based feedstocks and energy-intensive production methods.
This event aims to foster cross-sector dialogue on emerging technologies, policy pathways, and market mechanisms that can accelerate the transition to low- and zero-emissions ethylene. By convening diverse stakeholders, we seek to align on shared challenges, identify practical opportunities for collaboration, and catalyze scalable solutions that can drive meaningful emissions reductions across the value chain.
