Emissions Markets Accelerator Panel Discussion: Using Markets to Reduce Emissions and Drive Growth in the Global South

Join the Emissions Markets Accelerator during New York Climate Week for a high-level conversation on how market-based approaches can help reduce emissions while supporting economic growth in the Global South.
The discussion will bring together government and regulatory leaders, researchers, philanthropic partners, and other international stakeholders to examine the environmental and regulatory challenges governments are seeking to address, the role emissions markets can play across different pollutants and institutional contexts, and what is required to move from policy interest to implementation.
The event will also share emerging insights from EMA’s ongoing engagement with governments and stakeholders across a number of countries, highlighting priorities, implementation challenges, and opportunities for further collaboration. This event is located at Convene at 75 Rockefeller Plaza.
The Emissions Market Accelerator is a partnership between the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC) and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL).
Panel
The high-level panel will bring together senior pollution control board and government representatives from India, international government and regulatory participants, philanthropic and funding partners, and leading researchers working on environmental and economic policy.
