ABOUT THE RRS WORKSHOP

WELCOME TO THE 5th RRS WINTER WORKSHOP
We are pleased to announce the 5th RRS Winter Workshop, to be held February 26–27, 2026 in Denver, Colorado at the ART Hotel. This year’s workshop “Comparative Radiation Research: The Role of Companion Animal Medicine in the Radiation Sciences” will highlight the unique and rapidly expanding impact of veterinary comparative models in advancing radiobiology, radiation oncology, and translational science.
Workshop Chairs Charles A. Maitz, DVM, PhD, DACVR and M. Keara Boss, DVM, PhD, DACVR have assembled an exciting program that brings together leaders in comparative oncology, radiation biology, and translational model development integrating expertise spanning veterinary and human medicine, benchtop and bedside. Submitted abstracts will be blindly reviewed for the selection of additional speakers.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is designed for researchers and clinicians working at the interface of veterinary and human radiation sciences — including radiobiologists, veterinary oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiation chemists, translational researchers, immunologists, and laboratory animal veterinarians supporting radiation research.
Program Emphasis
The format will prioritize collaboration, discussion, and scientific exchange across disciplines. Emphasis will be placed on leveraging comparative models for mechanistic discovery, therapeutic innovation, and translational acceleration spanning preclinical, veterinary clinical trial, and early-phase human contexts.
We invite you to include Denver, Colorado in your 2026 conference plans. Share your latest research and help shape a dynamic and highly interactive meeting positioned at the forefront of comparative radiation science.
