COVID - 19 Update & FAQ

How is the Global Private Equity Conference being impacted by COVID-19?

To date we have seen ongoing speaker confirmations and registration, but as the situation develops we will continue to evaluate our options, including hosting the Global Private Equity Conference as scheduled or providing potential alternative content and networking opportunities (both virtually or in person at a later date).

We take seriously our role to unite long-term private capital investors to drive transparency and sustainable economic development and this meeting is paramount to that mission, but we must be responsible global citizens.

Is the Global Private Equity Conference cancelled or postponed?

EMPEA is closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19 and how the virus will affect the health and safety of our network in relation to the upcoming Global Private Equity Conference in Washington, DC.

At this time, we are taking into account a number of factors and are identifying the best path forward in case we need to cancel, postpone, or reformat.

How is EMPEA monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak and what factors will contribute to a cancellation or delay?

Our team is evaluating existing and potential institutional travel bans that could extend to mid-May, the guidance of local and state government authorities in the short- and long-term, the CDC, the status of the severity in the host city, and most importantly the feedback and limitations of our members and conference attendees.

Who can I contact with questions or concerns related to my participation at the upcoming Global Private Equity Conference?

For those individuals that have already registered or are considering attending, we are updating some of our policies to make participation as flexible as possible, including:

· Extending the early bird discount to 10 April 2020.

· Offering refunds (minus a processing fee) to registered attendees in the event of a cancellation.

· Offering transferrable tickets within your firm/team for registered attendees who are experiencing institutional travel limitations.

We would encourage participants to evaluate their own situation and hold off on booking travel or explore refundable options as appropriate.

Please contact Kaela Kennedy (kkennedy@empea.net) for further questions about the event and your participation.

I am a sponsor, speaker and/or attendee and travel restrictions due to COVID-19 no longer allow me to travel to the event this year. What are my options?

Sponsors and speakers can contact Olivia Drouhaut at drouhauto@empea.net or Megan Smith at smithm@empea.net to coordinate participation.

In the event of a cancellation, sponsors and attendees will be refunded (minus a processing fee).

Current sponsors will also be given priority consideration for representation and marketing for any alternate programming that EMPEA hosts in lieu of the live Global Private Equity Conference.
