From July 11th to 16th, 2022, young writers from around the state will once again meet at Fort Worden State Park, committing 6 days of our summer to our poems and our prose, to take risks with our writing and to share in an inspiring, supportive, and resilient creative community. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 High School Writers Conference will be available to those who are vaccinated between the ages of 14-18 (incoming freshmen to newly graduated seniors). Proof of full, current boosted vaccination is required at the time of registration and upon arrival, even if you are not staying on campus.
To encourage a diverse and inclusive conference with a wide range of writing experience, we seek to offer fellowships and financial assistance for those who would otherwise not be able to afford it. To apply for financial assistance, complete the scholarship application at the time of registration.
