What is Emerging Leaders?

Emerging Leaders is a leadership development program exclusively for employees of KCMN member companies. The coursework was created based on the input and recommendations of manufacturers. Administered through Johnson County Community College, our goal is to create opportunities for those who want to:

• Improve leadership, management and communication skills
• Learn applicable, practical strategies for career growth and success
• Connect with others with similar goals

Who should attend Emerging Leaders?

​Candidates for the Emerging Leaders Program include:

• ​Employees identified for current and future leadership roles.
• Current supervisors, managers and leads who want to increase effectiveness.
• Employees who want to take advantage of internal promotion opportunities.
• Team members desiring personal growth and development.
• Employees who have completed previous tiers and want to continue their leadership development.

I am not a KCMN Manufacturing Member, can I still attend?

Emerging Leaders is for KCMN Manufacturing Members only. If you are interested in joining the network, contact our Network Manager for more information or fill out our Membership Application & our Network Manager will be in touch.

Do I have to take each tier in order (i.e. Tier I before Tier II, etc.)?

No. Tiers can be taken in any order.

How often is Emerging Leaders offered?

Each tier is offered once in the fall and once in the spring.

Can I register for more than one tier at a time?

We recommend registering for one tier per semester. Sessions in different tiers sometimes fall on the same day, which means you'd miss one.

Do I have to attend every session to get my certificate?

Participants must attend 5 of the 6 sessions to receive their completion certificate. 

When will I receive my completion certificate?

Your completion certificate will be emailed to you after your tier has ended. If you do not receive it within 2 weeks after your tier has ended, please contact our Instructional Designer, Meghan O'Neal.

How much does Emerging Leaders cost?

The registration fee for Emerging Leaders is $315 per person, per tier.  All registration fees must be paid in full before your tier begins. 

Is there a registration deadline to sign up for EL?

Yes. Tier 1 registration deadline is Tuesday, September 15th @ 11:00 p.m. Tier 2 & Tier 3 registration deadlines are Tuesday, September 22nd at 11:00 p.m.

When will I get the link for my session?

Each session has its own link — JCCC will email it to you before the session.

I didn't get the link to my next session, who should I contact?

If you have not received the link for your next session by the day before, please contact  Angela Emig or Rachell McAlister at JCCC.

My session link isn't working, what should I do?

If your session link is not working and you are unable to join the session, please contact  Angela Emig or Rachell McAlister at JCCC.
