The Division of Graduate and Specialized Programming at Drexel University, Elkins Park Campus invites you to participate in this synchronous, virtual Opioid Education offering. The course will be held via Zoom on Monday, November 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET.

Course Description:

This course reviews pharmaceutical strategies for ocular pain management, including oral analgesics and controlled substances, while emphasizing safe prescribing practices, opioid misuse recognition, adverse effect management, and evidence-based treatment selection for optometric patient care.

• Review scheduled medications for pain
• Educate on opioid medications
• Discuss pain pathways
• Review opioid side effects

This course fulfills the Pennsylvania license renewal requirement for two hours of opioid training. Certificates will be issued by the 11/30/26 deadline for PA re-licensure CE credits. This course may qualify for two TPA (Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent) credits - please check with your State Board to confirm. This course is pending COPE accreditation for two synchronous, virtual continuing education credits.
