Teaching Personal Finance: Employment Standard Training for Tennessee Educators (Aug-Sept 2026)

This 14-hour training program on Teaching Personal Finance will provide secondary educators with the necessary credentialing (employment standard) for teaching the required Tennessee high school personal finance course. The training is open to Tennessee educators who need the credentialing to teach the Tennessee high school personal finance course.

The training will focus on concepts related to the personal finance course standards: financial responsibility and personal decision-making; education, careers, and income; planning and money management; credit and debt; risk management; and saving and investing. The training will allow educators to expand their knowledge of personal finance concepts and will provide curriculum and supplemental teaching tools for use in the classroom.

Participants must attend both webinars (four hours total) and complete an additional 10 hours of coursework to receive the employment standard to teach the high school personal finance course. If you are unable to attend a webinar, please contact the event coordinators in advance to make arrangements to view recording and to complete a related assignment.

There is no charge for this program, but registration is required.

The Federal Reserve Education and the Center for Financial Literacy at MTSU will conduct the program in partnership.
