We are thrilled to announce the second Data Science Education K-12: Research to Practice Conference. Through collaborative sessions, innovative formats, and a supportive community, this conference offers a dynamic atmosphere for educators, researchers, curriculum developers, and school leaders to exchange ideas and co-create the future of data literacy and data science education for K-12 learners.

If you are an educator, researcher, content and/or tool developer, school leader, or policymaker excited to share ideas, learn from colleagues, and jointly pave the way towards robust data science education and data literacy opportunities for K-12 learners, then this conference is for you!

We are particularly interested in proposals from classroom teachers who are already using data science approaches and data literacy strategies with their students.

Over the last decade, the community of practitioners, researchers, and policymakers interested in K-12 data science and data literacy has grown exponentially. Yet, there are few spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration and thought exchange specifically on the topic of data science education.

Data literacy is a critical skill for civic engagement, and in the era of AI, data literacy is a fundamental practice that every student should have the opportunity to learn before high school graduation. At DSE K-12, you’ll explore how data science can transform teaching across subjects, learn from early adopters leading district and state initiatives, and connect with the growing network advancing K-12 data education nationwide.
