Event Overview

The Swine Health Advisory Committee is established to provide strategic input, producer guidance, and stakeholder alignment in support of the National Swine Health Strategy. As a member, you will help advise the Swine Health Team and the National Pork Board’s Board of Directors on priorities for Pork Checkoff investments related to the National Swine Health Strategy.

The Advisory Committee will:

• Advance the National Swine Health Strategy by ensuring alignment with national goals and coordinated industry efforts

• Provide strategic guidance and prioritization of National Pork Board work related to the National Swine Health Strategy

• Identify research gaps and advise on allocation of Pork Checkoff resources for research initiatives

• Guide producer-focused outreach and communication strategies to ensure clear, actionable resources for producers

• Foster collaboration among producers, veterinarians, academia, industry partners, and government agencies

• Review outcomes of funded projects and make recommendations for continuous improvement

The advisory committee is designed to include representatives from key sectors of the pork industry, including producers, veterinarians, state pork associations, allied industry partners, and federal and state animal health officials.

Representation across these groups is important, and it is vital that producers play a leading role in the advisory committee.
