Leadership development built by manufacturers, for manufacturers.
Emerging Leaders (EL) is an exclusive program for employees of KCMN member companies, with coursework shaped by the input and recommendations of manufacturing leaders themselves. Administered through Johnson County Community College, the program helps participants sharpen their leadership, management, and communication skills while building a network of peers pursuing the same goals.

Emerging Leader Tiers
The program consists of three independent tiers, each focused on a different dimension of leadership development. Tiers can be taken in any order — start where it makes sense for you. Each tier includes six bi-weekly live virtual sessions, held from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. A unique virtual link is sent to participants before each session.
TIER 1 | Foundations of Leadership
Focuses on communication, strengths, meeting facilitation, reading people, and developing yourself and others.
TIER 1 REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2026.
Registration for Tier 1 will close at 11:00 p.m. on 9/15/26. Participants can still sign up for Tier 2 or Tier 3 before 11:00 p.m. on 9/22/26.
TIER 2 | Leading Teams & Change
Covers ethical leadership, coaching and mentoring, time management, decision making, change management, and motivating across generations.
TIER 2 REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2026
Registration for Tier 2 will close at 11:00 p.m. on 9/22/26.
TIER 3 | Advanced Leadership Skills
Addresses high impact feedback, unconscious bias, conflict resolution, delegation, stress management, and goal setting tied to engagement.
TIER 3 REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2026.
Registration for Tier 3 will close at 11:00 p.m. on 9/22/26.
