A ½ day course aimed at delegates with little to no experience in human factors.
What the course will cover
The course is designed to introduce the subject, help delegates with their understanding of human error and understand factors that impact on human performance. It will introduce some key areas including:
- What is human factors?
- Human error and what makes us prone to it
- HSE model of human error; slips, lapses, mistakes and violations
- Mental models and how they contribute to human errors
- The impact of alertness and fatigue on human performance
- Consideration of human factors in forms of communication
- Examples of incidents within the process industries
Training method
There are a number of short videos and discussion exercises throughout the course to help support delegates learning. The course is concluded with a short quiz to test delegates understanding of the content.
