Welcome to Sensorium 2026, a conference dedicated to advancing research in sensory biology, ecology, and evolution.
Sensorium brings together researchers to share new ideas, present recent findings, and foster collaborations across disciplines. The meeting will feature two days of talks and posters, along with opportunities for informal discussion and networking.
The conference is sponsored by the Department of Biological Sciences, the College of Science, and Notre Dame Research at the University of Notre Dame.
All attendees must register by September 30. Registration fees are $45 for regular attendees and $25 for students and postdocs, and include lunch on Saturday and the conference dinner.
Participants may present a talk (one per lab), a poster, or attend without presenting. To register, please provide your contact information and, if applicable, a presentation title and abstract (200 words). The deadline to register to give a talk or present a poster is September 30.
Invited Speakers.
Amanda Melin (University of Calgary) investigates the evolution of primate sensory systems through a multisensory lens, linking variation in vision, olfaction, taste, and touch to diet, behavior, and ecological adaptation.
Angeles Salles (University of Illinois, Chicago) studies how the brains of bats process complex sounds and use acoustic information to guide social behavior and communication. Combining neurophysiology, behavior, and molecular approaches, her work uses bats as a powerful model for understanding how sensory systems transform sounds from the environment into meaningful behavioral responses.
The American Society of Naturalists (ASN) is sponsoring registration for the first 50 ASN members who sign up to attend the Sensorium 2026.
