This ½ day course is designed to increase understanding of the impact of hydrogen on hazardous area classification.

TÜV Rheinland are industry leaders in the provision of specialist technical training to the process industries. Hydrogen is becoming more prevalent in new up and coming industries which leads engineers to pondering whether the future of the industries they work in will have hydrogen as a big component as we move towards the target of Net Zero.

The course will cover:

  • Why hazardous area classification is needed in many industrial settings
  • How a hazardous area is defined
  • What makes hydrogen different from other flammable gases or vapours in terms of hazardous area classification
  • The use of industry regulations such as The Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers (IGEM) supplementary guidance for hydrogen
