April 18 (Sunday)

Arrive Venice, Italy

Welcome to Venice! Venice is one of the few remaining pedestrian-only cities in the world, with over 150 canals and 400 bridges connecting the many roads and over a hundred churches. We will gather in the evening for a lovely welcome dinner reception with elegant dining on the Grand Canal.

Venice

April 19 (Monday)

San Marco, Doge's Palace, Gondola

We will visit the glorious San Marco Basilica, the resting place of St. Mark the apostle, whose remains were brought to Italy by Venetian merchants in the 9th century from Alexandria, Egypt, where he was martyred. 

See Doge's Palace, the Gothic center of the Venetian government, and the 15th century monastic Church of St. Zechariah built in honor of the father of John the Baptist that holds his sacred relics.

Visit Santa Maria dei Frari (Mary of the Friars), a 14th century Venetians Gothic Church with astounding art. Enjoy a Gondola Ride along the Venetian canals.

April 20 (Tuesday)

Padua

Travel 1.5 hours from Venice to Padua for Mass at the Basilica of St. Anthony. 

Enjoy a special tour of the Basilica to view the Sacred Reliquaries.

April 21 (Wednesday)

Venice, Church of San Rocco

In the morning we will visit the Scuole Grande e Chiresa di San Rocco that houses a breathtaking amount of Venetian Art. Often called the "Sistine Chapel of Venice". Enjoy lunch and a free afternoon to explore Venice!

Milan

April 22 (Thursday)

Transfer to Milan, Duomo Cathedral

In the morning we will take a two hour train ride to Milan.

After our arrival and lunch, we will enjoy a tour of the magnifience Cathedral Duomo. With construction beginning in the late 14th century and taking another 600 years for full completion, this is the largest church in Italy and the 5th largest in the world. We will visit the tomb of St. Charles Borromeo, the 16th century archbishop of Milan.

April 23 (Friday)

Milan, Basilica of St. Ambrose

Today, we will visit the Basilica of St. Ambrose, where one of the great Latin Doctors of the Church and mentor to St. Augustine is laid to rest. Visit the famous Santa Maria delle Grazie where Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper is housed.

Enjoy a free afternoon in Milan!

April 24 (Saturday)

Pavia

Our final day includes a day trip to Pavia to visit the tomb of St. Augustine in St. Augustine's Basilica. We will also visit the San Lanfronco Church and the nearby Carthusian monastery.

We will return to Milan for Saturday Vigil Mass and a farewell dinner.

Departure to USA
