Learning By Design and The American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA-CAE) Research Committee are hosting a live DIALOGUES event on October 22, 2019. This one-day event facilitates a productive ThinkTank CoLab on learning environment research and evaluation; past, present, future. Invited guests include respondents to the AIA-CAE POE survey and industry experts from diverse fields. This event promotes cross-cultural collaboration and the framing of evaluation objectives for further development by the AIA-CAE and other like-minded partners. TheThinkTank CoLab format will result in the identification of key objectives for research and evaluation that best reflects the most robust knowledge needs for the future.
Outcome: Develop a problem statement, a vision statement and set of priorities as a research roadmap for learning environments in the future. Proceedings to inform Phase 2 POE development and 2020 Dialogues event.
Event Location: DIALOGUES 2019 will take place within The Quadracci Pavilion, the iconic sculptural addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum designed by Santiago Calatrava. The Spanish architect was inspired by the “dramatic, original building by Eero Saarinen, . . . the topography of the city,” and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie-style architecture.
