Introduction to the course
This course is designed for orthodontists seeking greater control, predictability and finishing quality in their Damon Ultima treatments. Rather than focusing on isolated techniques, the program presents a structured clinical system that connects diagnosis, bracket selection, bonding, biomechanics and finishing into a single, coherent protocol.
Technology is approached as a tool that enables precision, not as a substitute for clinical judgment. The objective is to help clinicians finish better cases, on time, with stable functional and esthetic outcomes.

Agenda
Day 1- DAMON PHILOSOPHY, TORQUE & CLINICAL EXECUTION
Friday, 21 May, 2027, 09:00 - 17:00
Section 1 - The Damon Philosophy Revisited: From Q2 to Damon Ultima
▶ How the original Damon philosophyapplies to today’s clinical challenges, and how Damon Ultima refines bracket design todeliver improved three-dimensional control.
▶Direct comparison between Q2 and Ultima cases, focusing on bracket design, torque expression, arch wire sequences, early light elastics and disarticulation strategies.
Section 2 – Torque Selection: Facial, Esthetic and Occlusal Control
▶ Torque is a clinical decision, not a preset value.
▶ This section explores how torque selection influences incisor display, smile arc, lip support and occlusal relationships. Clear criteria are presented for choosing between Procline and Retrocline torque options in Damon Ultima, and for understanding how variable torque impacts treatment outcomes.
Hands-On Exercise: Torque selection on real clinical cases, comparing different options and discussing their facial, esthetic and functional implications.
Section 3 – Bracket Placement as a Clinical Tool
▶ Bonding is approached as a strategic step in treatment planning.
▶ This session covers how bracket placement directly influences torque expression, smile arc protection and occlusion. Practical criteria for bracket heights and positioning are discussed, along with the role of the Pano-Repo visit and the clinical indications for direct bonding versus ODB.
Clinical Workshop and Hands-On – Direct & Indirect Bonding: Step-by-step demonstration of direct and indirect bonding workflows. Participants will understand how bonding accuracy affects finishing efficiency, the need for repositioning and wire bending later in treatment. The focus is on consistency, precision and reproducibility in daily clinical practice.
DAY 2 – DAMON ULTIMA IN ACTION: PROTOCOLS, FINISHING & PREDICTABILITY
Saturday, 22 May, 2027, 09:00 - 17:00
Section 4 – Blueprint for the Perfect Smile: Structuring the Clinical Protocol
▶ How to structure a Damon Ultima case from the very beginning.
▶ This section integrates facial analysis, upper incisor positioning, archwire sequencing, timing and elastic strategies, with a clear explanation of what each treatment phase is designed to achieve.
Hands-On Exercise: Complete facial-driven smile design on a real clinical case.
Section 5 – Arch Development & Stability
▶ Understanding how to develop arches within biological limits and how posterior uprighting influences transverse development and occlusal stability.
▶ Clear clinical criteria are presented for managing severe crowding and making sound non-extraction versus extraction decisions.
Hands-On Exercise: Individualization of stainless steel arch wires using the WALA ridge as an anatomical reference.
Section 6 – Class II, Deep Bite & Vertical Control Protocols
▶ Practical Damon Ultima protocols for Class II and deep bite correction.
▶ This section covers facial diagnosis, the Face-Push approach, Herbst integration, early light elastics, disarticulation strategies and anterior torque control, with special emphasis on vertical control as a foundation for predictable finishing.
Section 7 – Gummy Smile Management & The Final Touch
▶ This final section focuses on the treatment of a Gummy Smile with VectorTAS.
▶ Clear criteria are presented for the indication, timing and execution of gingivectomy and hard tissue recontouring as the final refinement step, elevating esthetics while preserving
function and long-term stability.
This section reframes finishing not as an afterthought, but as a planned outcome from the start of treatment.
