UITP Academy: Safety and Reliability Management in Public Transport

Course Description:
Safety and reliability are crucial and indispensable characteristics of all modes of public transport systems as well as bus and rail. They are the most important ones for ensuring people to use public transport services. Safety management systems, including risk and crisis management, play pivotal roles in preparing staff for emergency situations and defining safety plans and procedures.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the key elements of safety in public transport
• Explain the fundamentals of risk and crisis management
• Develop and implement a safety management system to ensure system and people safety
• Learning about inspection and monitoring and safety audits with international best practices
• Understand how to use safety data for accidents prevention
