About the Workshop

Description

Arguably, the planning, construction, and opening of the Panama Canal were America’s greatest hydraulic & hydrologic achievement of the 20th Century. This enormous work of engineering traces its roots to the 16th century (and Spain’s King Charles I) and has a fascinating history intertwining Europe, Central America, and the United States. The canal is more than simply locks and channels: it also represents a history of tool and equipment innovation, the construction of the largest reservoir on earth, the biggest concrete dam on earth, the use of the newest metal, and much more. It is truly a marvel of engineering and still serves as an inspiration to all – especially engineers!

Join Dr. Bill Hunt, WNR Professor & NCSU Extension Specialist as he teaches about one of America’s greatest engineering achievements, the Panama Canal.

This workshop will be hosted live via Zoom. We hope you can join us for this unique webinar.
