New Small Farm Agent, Malique Middleton, opens his backyard urban farm, The Gewd Farm, to the community for an interactive tour exploring how everyday residential spaces can be transformed into productive urban farms. Participants will walk through the farm, learn about raised beds, small scale crop production, composting, medicinal plants, and other techniques used to maximize limited growing space. The workshop will also explore the benefits of urban agriculture and opportunities for turning a backyard or small parcel into a productive farm. Participants will leave with practical ideas and inspiration for making the most of the land they already have.
