Strengthening rural housing systems requires thoughtful local leadership, strong partnerships, and practical implementation capacity. In this working lunch, the Housing Assistance Council will share policy, financing, and community development strategies to build and preserve local housing stock, along with field-based technical assistance approaches that strengthen local capacity and support implementation in rural communities.

The session will focus on practical tools, partnership development, and implementation strategies for nonprofit organizations, housing practitioners, and community development leaders working to advance local housing solutions. Areas of focus will include data-informed housing strategies, the use of tax credit programs for affordable housing, and multifamily housing preservation. Participants will engage one-on-one with HAC's expert peers and share successful and innovative approaches used to advance rural housing solutions through collaboration, partnerships, and practical implementation strategies.
