4:00 pm - 4:15 pm: Registration & Networking

4:15 pm - 4:30 pm: Welcome Comments & Chapter Announcements

4:30 pm - 5:20 pm: Topic #1 - Practice What We Audit: Establishing AI Governance in the Internal Audit Function

Speaker: Paul Jacokes, CPA, CIA, CRMA, CISA, AAIA, Internal Audit Manager with the State of Michigan

Internal audit is being asked to provide assurance over AI, often before it has governed its own use of the technology. This session takes a practitioner’s view of AI governance, drawing on a public sector audit function’s experience launching an AI program. Paul will walk through the core building blocks: a charter, a roadmap, and an acceptable use policy. He will also share how AI is being applied to strengthen risk assessment and audit planning, and what business case pilots are revealing about AI’s benefits and risks. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for governing AI within their own audit functions, and a clearer view of the governance controls they should expect to see, and test, in the organizations they audit.

5:20 pm – 6:00 pm: Dinner & Optional Speed Networking Sessions for In-Person Attendees

While virtual attendees will be able to access the presentation content, those who join us in person will have the added benefit of dinner and have the exclusive opportunity to participate in optional Speed Networking sessions. This special opportunity allows participants to engage directly with other auditing professionals, share experiences, and make valuable connections during dedicated networking time.

6:00 pm – 6:50 pm: Topic #2 - From Compliance to Foresight: Transforming Dealer Audit Through Risk, Data, and Insight

A discussion on transforming dealer audit from a manually intensive compliance exercise into an integrated, proactive risk and insight model. Julie will share how connecting people, processes, technology, and advanced analytics can help audit organizations identify risk earlier, improve accuracy, streamline execution, and deliver actionable insights that strengthen performance and support growth.

Speaker: Julie Shafer, Director Global Dealer Audit at General Motors
