We look forward to welcoming you to Oxford!

As aviation moves towards a more sustainable future, new technologies and research are opening up exciting opportunities across the sector. From hydrogen propulsion and cryogenic fuels to aircraft design and infrastructure, this transition brings together expertise, innovation and new perspectives.

Women in Sustainable Aviation brings together women from academia and industry to showcase their work, share career experiences and explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of sustainable aviation.

The motivation behind the event was introduced at the WISE Conference 2026, highlighting the importance of increasing the visibility of women in aviation and engineering, particularly as new research and career opportunities emerge in sustainable aviation.

The morning will feature talks from women working at the forefront of sustainable aviation research and technology, with a particular focus on hydrogen and cryogenic fuels. The afternoon will provide a platform for students and early-career professionals to showcase their work through a three-minute research pitch competition, encouraging fresh perspectives and discussions across disciplines.

The event is supported by the EPSRC through the Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Propulsion and Power and the Programme Grant Making Hydrogen Work in Zero-Carbon Jet Engines.

Whether you are a student, researcher or industry professional, join us for a day of research, innovation, career insights and new connections as we explore the technologies and people shaping the future of aviation.
