EVENT OVERVIEW
Join us for a focused literacy learning session designed to deepen understanding of the revised Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) for Reading and Writing and their impact on classroom instruction. This learning is designed to benefit all learners by strengthening instructional coherence, promoting equitable access to grade-level text, and ensuring every student has opportunities to engage in meaningful reading and writing. Participants will build a shared knowledge of the architecture of the standards, including key revisions, and explore the critical role of Standard 10 in strengthening reading comprehension. The session will also examine how to effectively bundle standards using grade-appropriate, complex texts to drive meaningful, text-based writing and discussion. General and special education teachers, instructional leaders, and administrators will leave with greater clarity and practical insight to support high-quality reading instruction in inclusive classrooms.
